Taking Healthcare Into Her Own Hands With Bariatric Surgery

After A Frustrating Experience with The Canadian System - This Client Took Her Health Into Her Hands with Global Healthcare Connections

Travel Tourism, or Medical Tourism, is a route often used by Canadian citizens who are not getting the care they need when they need it. The following client was not receiving the care she needed until she contacted Adele Kulyk of Global Healthcare Connections - who was able to get her in with the bariatric surgeon who she feels helped to lengthen her life.

Client Testimonial - D.M. Bariatric Surgery Patient

Before I met with Adele, I had experienced a month’s frustration with another agency. Shortly after I walked into Adele’s office, she was able to contact a physician in a very well established private hospital and arrange the procedure I needed.

She was so comforting and so reassuring. She said there are many other ways to go. Until then, I had asked myself, “Why have I been spinning in circles and doing all if this just to be frustrated? I had given up hope.” Adele put me into a state of calm and of hope. Now, months later, I am just amazed at the difference in my life.

When people are on waiting lists, suffering, their health can be like a ticking time bomb. Adele’s services take the pressure off of our system here in Saskatoon and allow other people on waiting lists to move more quickly through the system. The quicker test results are available, the quicker doctors can get on with the business of deciding what kinds of medical interventions are needed.

Adele has never represented herself as being a medical expert but she certainly is thorough and astute about her homework. I ended up having a procedure done out of the country. The care was exemplary and I would go to that place again in a heartbeat if necessary.

She does not discount anybody here. In fact, she does referrals the other way. She works in concert with people in Saskatoon. If there is private imaging in Alberta or if there is a care facility somewhere else where she can do some accessing, she is quite happy to do that. Her first and foremost concern is the patient.

My physician in Saskatoon was very happy to work in concert with Adele. She had met with him and has met with a number of other local physicians. She has coordinated a lot of patient care with local physicians so she is not undermining what is going on here she is augmenting it.

My Canadian specialist marvelled at my results and the scars from the procedure abroad. He said I had probably lengthened my life; it was an investment well made, and that it was a good thing there had been a lot of research first because it made a positive difference to my overall health and perhaps even my future.

A number of physicians who I have spoken to are aware of the services that Adele offers and they are quite happy to work with her. It’s also wonderful that she is responding to such a broad range of health concerns.

For me, thanks to this intervention, I am no longer looking at potential Diabetes, an impending heart attack or perhaps a stroke. All of these things have just been taken off my plate. It is wonderful.

Adele wasn’t trying to sell anything. She was trying to connect me with the medical services that I required. She did that with great compassion and sensitivity.
